had a blast meeting folks in Virginia and South Carolina this past weekend... learned alot about what true friends and buddies are, too... a real friend is better than money or music.. I'm blessed that I have a few that I can say are my real friends.... cheers...

Bob Babbitt..

As a musician, I've been fortunate to have worked with some of my heroes through the years...I lost one with the passing of Motown bassist Bob Babbitt... Bob worked with me at Merlot Sound on my recording of "Mercy, Mercy Me" for the Player album, which he had originally played on with Marvin Gaye during the Motown sessions.. he was like a kid at Christmas time in the studio... we spent our time working and talking about music... about Motown bassist James Jamerson, whom he loved like a brother.. he sat in a chair with his old Fender Precision, and a tube compressor which he brought with him, and played his butt off.. we talked about future recordings but that won't happen...let me just say that he was a wonderful, caring, kind person who happened to be a great musician...
