A Note From Ronn Last month I blogged on my MySpace page, www.MySpace.com/ronnlynnonline,
about the passing of musician Larry Knechtel. Larry came to my home and worked with me on a couple of tracks for an album of mine back in the late 80's. Musicians and sidemen are no doubt my heros. Larry Knechtel was with out a doubt one of the greatest musicians in the world. It saddens me this morning to say that another hero of mine is gone with the passing of Greg Ladanyi who died from a fall while working in Cypress.
I worked with Greg on The Crickets and Their Buddies album back in 1998.
Greg, like Larry, had worked with about everyone from Jackson Browne (six albums, including “Running on Empty”, “Holding Out”, and “Lawyers in Love”), Toto (four albums, including “Toto IV”), Don Henley (three albums, including “Building the Perfect Beast”), Fleetwood Mac (“Fleetwood Mac Greatest Hits” and “Behind the Mask”), The Church (“Starfish”), Jeff Healey (“See the Light”).Greg went on to work with Karla Bonoff, Clannad, Caifanes, Jaguares, General Public, Asia, Camel, REO Speed Wagon, Tommy Shaw, Dolly Parton, The Crickets, and Joe Cocker.

We will continue to hear their music everyday and they will be missed. Ronn

Crickets and Friends Cd
The Crickets and Their Buddies has
recently been released on Itunes. The cd,
with the working title "Under The Influence",
is a well deserved tribute to the music of
The Crickets, with and without Buddy Holly,
including such artists as Eric Clapton,
John Prine, Waylon Jennings, Phil Everly,
Vince Neil, Albert Lee, Nancy Griffith,
Rodney Crowell, Bobby Vee, Johnny Rivers
and others. The album was produced and
engineered by Grammy winner
Greg Ladanyi (Jackson Browne, Fleetwood
Mac, Don Henley, Toto). Ronn was an
engineer on the album and played on the
Johnny Rivers track. The recording dates can
be seen on the Schedule Page.
